Allan grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and was exposed to music early on. As a young child, he possessed perfect pitch and displayed unusual talent. He started playing the piano at the age of 3 where he performed in recitals and caught the attention of many as a child prodigy, playing the works of Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach in several recitals at an early age. Eventually, with the encouragement of his mother, Allan took on playing classical music by ear. In his teens, Allan attended the Performing Arts High School (later known as the LaGuardia High School) in New York City, NY. While there, he developed an even stronger affinity for classical music. Entering competitions and recitals, not to mention his involvement at his local church, he kept working on his craft and became a skilled pianist. Upon graduating from high school, he attended University of Buffalo. From Buffalo, he then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he now resides with his family. In Atlanta, Allan has gotten involved with several groups and duos to perform at several venues, including the Atlanta Jazz Festival, Grant Park Festival, and many other local events. He’s married to Michelle, and they have four children.
Today, Allan is the current music director at Smyrna Presbyterian Church in Smyrna, Georgia, also teaches private piano lessons, and he still plays for events and local venues, along with his weekly ministry at churches. Allan also enjoys consulting with other ministries about their worship, helping them with the selection of material that would lead and point people to God. Working with worship teams made up of men and women of different ages, backgrounds, musical experiences, etc. Offering suggestions to those who have a role in the leading, caring, and feeding of a group of volunteers in worship at their church. Challenging people to a high standard of service, musicianship, involvement, preparation, ministry and commitment.
